Choose the Dirt Path
The older I become, the more I realize that God rarely does His greatest work on perfectly paved roads.
He often meets us on the dirt paths.
The places where we can't rely on our own understanding.
The places where every step requires trust.
I've discovered that the dirt path isn't where faith begins—it reveals whether our faith has taken root.
Anyone can praise God when the road is smooth.
Anyone can trust when every answer is clear.
But Psalm 112 reminds us that a steadfast heart isn't built by the absence of adversity. It's built by repeatedly choosing to trust God through it.
Ruth didn't know how her story would end.
She simply chose faithfulness.
She chose loyalty.
She chose courage.
One faithful step at a time.
That's what the dirt path teaches us.
Faith isn't about knowing every turn in the road.
It's about knowing the One who walks with us.
So today, don't be afraid if your path feels unfamiliar.
Some of God's greatest blessings are found on roads most people would never choose to travel.
Walk them anyway.
Not because they are easy.
But because the One who called you is faithful.
